College and Common Application:

Students are responsible for checking deadlines for their college and common application choices. Please be sure to contact your counselors prior to submitting applications. Most college applications can be completed through CommonApp.org.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid):

In order to receive Federal Aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans from public universities, students must submit their FAFSA application no later than February 15, 2018. Students will need the following information in order to complete the application:

  • Student Social Security Number
  • Parent Social Security Number
  • Parent FSA ID 
  • Student FSA ID
  • Student 2016 Tax Forms (if applicable)
  • Parent 2016 Tax Forms (or proof of independent)
  • CT W-2 forms may also be required.

Some schools may also require completion of the CSS Profile. Please check to see if your school is on the list.

Scholarships:

There are many opportunities to earn money to assist student with their post-secondary plans. Several scholarships are posted through Naviance.org. Additional scholarship opportunities can be found below. Be sure to continue to check in with your counselors or Ms. Sangster for assistance and updates.
